Description

You are the vigilant guardian forging the frontline defenses in our next-generation security and compliance program. This foundational role designs automated threat detection and rapid response capabilities for corporate cloud environments, integrating 800-171 controls and monitoring to identify, contain, and eradicate incidents—ensuring real time alerting to threats facing our corporate environment. This is a full-time onsite position located at our headquarters in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Research, select/build, and implement processes/tools to improve detection security methodologies.

  • Support compliance efforts as it relates to NIST 800-171, CMMC, 2.0 and/or ITAR/EAR.

  • Research, design, and advocate new technologies, architectures, standards, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise, our customers, and business partner

  • Define security architecture design patterns and evaluate and develop secure solutions based on approved security architecture and emerging risks.

  • Build automation, tooling, and systems that improve security compliance, observability, and governance

  • Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, including post-incident analysis.

  • Implement and manage tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, MFA, PAM, DLP, and email security.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity or security engineering experience.

  • Ability to lead or support real-world incident response efforts.

  • Familiarity with cloud security logging, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines for playbook deployment.

  • Familiarity with network communication protocols and architecture

  • Familiarity with one or more common cybersecurity frameworks like NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, etc

  • Experience building security tooling utilizing security tools like Splunk, Wazuh, etc.

    Senior Security Threat Engineer: $170,000-$220,000

ITAR Requirements:

This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
