What We Do

The Market Research Associate is a member of the Corporate Affairs Research team and is responsible for delivering insightful market and/or competitive research in support of business development, thought leadership and strategic business planning for Fidelity Canada. Reporting to the Director, Research, the Market Research Associate helps to prioritize, resource, and execute strategic research and thought leadership initiatives, as well as shorter-term tactical opportunities, and collaborates with partners across Fidelity to achieve the team’s and Fidelity’s goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide end-to-end assistance to the Market Research Analysts with Fidelity Canada’s primary research program including questionnaire design, sampling, data collection, and analysis.

  • Assist with synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data and preparing research reports and/or dashboards for key internal partners

  • Work closely with the Market Research Analysts to support Fidelity Canada’s businesses with demand analysis and competitive positioning to identify key financial industry trends and uncover new business opportunities.

  • Engage with industry-leading market research partners to inform strategic decision making and support internal stakeholder research inquiries

  • Coordinates day-to-day Research team activities to ensure deliverables are met, risks are identified and assessed, and issues are managed and resolved.

  • Leads research and thought leadership project planning activities and provides regular updates to the Director on key projects’ progress.

  • Partners with vendors and key stakeholders across Fidelity to ensure project timelines and deliverables are achieved

  • Provides ongoing support for key vendors, industry firms and internal Fidelity business units.

  • Participates in the preparation of RFPs and evaluates proposals and statements of work.

  • In conjunction with internal partners, participates in meetings and acts as the central point of contact to manage vendor-related tasks and deliverables during life cycle of a project

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years' relevant experience, preferably in the financial services / asset management / market research industries

  • University degree or equivalent experience

  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset

  • Completion of the CSC designation is preferred

  • Enrollment or completion of the MRIA designation is considered an asset, as well as other investment-focused designations CFA/CAIA/CIM/etc.

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative ability with proven skills in conducting data analysis

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required

  • Flexible, able to multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities

  • Project management and strong organizational abilities
