Ivy Tech seeks qualified adjunct faculty to supplement the accounting instruction needs of our students at the Evansville, IN campus.

Accounting is the foundation of a successful business. Because of accountants, executives in an organization can make decisions that are smart and can help grow the company even more. Without accounting, businesses would fail.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Major Responsibilities:

Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.

PROGRAM OPERATION:

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.

  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.

  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.

  • Submits requested information within established timelines.

STUDENTS:

  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.

  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

INSTRUCTION:

  • Meet all scheduled classes of course and use technology such as appropriate.

  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Hiring Range:

  • $44.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,112 per 8-week course)

Work Hours:  

  • Adjunct Faculty positions typically begin at the start of semesters. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.

  • This position is intended to start by March 18, 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree, or higher, in accounting from a regionally accredited institution; or 

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree in a related business field from a regionally accredited institution with documented 21 post-secondary semester hours in accounting 

  • Must be located to teach in-person at the Evansville, IN campus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as faculty in higher education.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience

  • CPA certification
