Join Manulife’s Singapore eBusiness team as an Associate Full-stack Software Engineer to help build and maintain our ManuView platform, blending modern microservices with core enterprise technologies. You’ll play a key role in the end-to-end development lifecycle, from requirements clarification to system design, implementation, and production support. This role offers the chance to work with both Spring Boot/Cloud on Microsoft Azure and WebLogic/JSP/Servlet architectures, collaborate with global teams, and grow within a culture that values learning, ownership, and real business impact.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the end‑to‑end development lifecycle of product features—from requirements clarification with overseas BU partners to system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications built on WebLogic and JSP/Servlet technologies, ensuring system stability, performance, and scalability within a mission‑critical production environment.
Enhance system reliability and security by handling regular system upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and continuous optimization.
Drive code quality and system health by collaborating with cross‑functional teams on code reviews, performance tuning, and compliance with platform standards.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on backend development experience after graduation.
Proven experience building and maintaining microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud in production environments.
Solid understanding of core Java with hands-on experience in Servlet, JDBC, HTML/JSP, jQuery, JavaScript, and XML, along with basic frontend and network knowledge.
Proficiency with version control systems (SVN/Git/GitHub) and working in Agile teams with CI/CD practices.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a nationally recognized university.
Good written English skills for documentation and tickets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of a Tier-1 Chinese university (e.g., Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China).
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Service Bus, and Azure Redis Cache.
Familiarity with cloud observability tools (e.g., Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, or ELK stack) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) or with global delivery teams using English for documentation and collaboration.
Strong curiosity and proactive learning ability, capable of adapting to new technologies and cloud migrations.
