The Team: Global Sourcing is part of the wider Procurement team, encompassing colleagues across multiple locations (UK, US, India, Philippines, Singapore). The immediate team will be supported by the hiring manager based in London and a Peer based in India, but the candidate will be embraced by a wider group.

Responsibilities and Impact:

As a key member of the S&P Global Source to Pay team, the Senior Sourcing Lead will strategically manage global sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, and direct negotiations) across S&P Global's indirect spend categories, with spend under management exceeding $600 million. This role is crucial in shaping procurement strategies and supports Divisional Sourcing Directors in sourcing, negotiating, and implementing global suppliers, ensuring optimal value and fostering robust partnerships.

Strategy and Planning:

  • Lead the development and execution of innovative sourcing strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Divisional Sourcing Directors to create comprehensive sourcing plans.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and trust.

Sourcing:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee structured sourcing events, ensuring compliance and integrity in the RFP process.
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve significant cost savings through direct negotiations and competitive bids across various categories, including technology, marketing, and staff augmentation.
  • Provide market intelligence insights to guide sourcing strategies.
  • Identify cost management opportunities and lead cross-functional deal teams.
  • Achieve cost-saving results and effectively communicate outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Ensure that vendor selection decisions are aligned with the S&P Global Responsible Procurement missions, specifically as it relates to supplier diversity, environmental and human rights considerations.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years in professional procurement, with demonstrated experience in sourcing, negotiations, and delivering savings.
  • Proven experience in engaging and influencing reluctant stakeholders to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Familiarity with e-Sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba) is essential.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or relevant certification preferred (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
  • Strong interest in exploring AI applications in procurement is a plus.
  • Proven strategic thinker with the ability to influence business outcomes and drive change.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Committed to supporting business priorities and adhering to governance frameworks.
  • Ability to proactively create roadmaps, strategies and action plans for initiatives under the responsibility of the position.
