Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Project Manager/Sr Principal Project Manager with the technical expertise, background, and people skills to coordinate and perform a wide range of program planning and business management efforts within the Command & Launch (C&L) Team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Relocation assistance may be offered for this position.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The successful candidate oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Control Account management responsibilities, inclusive of: Top level IMS and task management, Cost accounting and control, EAC management, Jira stories management, QBDs, internal tools, BOEs, Risk Management, and Variance Analysis Reporting. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal Project Manager: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience; Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience. In lieu of formal degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered.
Sr Principal Project Manager: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience; Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience or PhD and 4 year of related experience. In lieu of formal degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered.
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.
2 years experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or assisting a CAM in their duties.
Proficient in Microsoft suite software use (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
Excellent communication skills and experience preparing briefs for senior leadership.
Experience creating metrics and managing projects via metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current CAM certification.
Experience with MS Project.
Experience with Jira and Confluence; SCRUM master experience is also a plus.
Experience on a DOD contract Business Management team.
