Roles and Responsibilities
Transition: Ensure value from form strategic partnerships is realized through transformation enablement of our run processes. This includes and is not limited to app consolidation, modernization, and rationalization.
Op Mech: Establish effective operational rhythms to ensure realization of business objectives and operational targets.
Budget: Responsible for managing overall GPIT annual run budget of >$300M and working with staff and supporting teams to balance spend across CIOs
Budget: Develop proper controls to minimize leakage within GPIT run budget
Budget: Track headcount, GPIT level spend as needed with operational rigor and excellence
CIO Partnership: Drive commonality across CIOs in how they work to make it easier and better connect interfacing orgs.
CIO Partnership: Address pain points for executing team by facilitating cross functional discussions and set tone on expectations, minimum standards, etc. for all GPIT sub-businesses.
Other: Drives process improvement across multiple connected organizations within Gas Power and Vernova
Other: Influence initiatives that cross teams to advocate and support for the greater GPIT organization
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent
Significant years of IT professional and leadership experience
Desired Characteristics
Preference will be given to current Gas Power Information Technology employees.
Experience in establishing a multiyear strategy and leading teams in the execution of this strategy.
Demonstrated experience in relationship management inclusive of varied and complex stakeholder needs, collaborative and innovative vendor partner relationships, and influencing change across matrixed organizations.
Experience in run operations, including managing critical operational outages, coordinating technical problem solving, and application recovery. Experience creating and managing disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) programs.
Experience in establishing daily management, standard work, operating procedures, policies, service level agreements.
Experience in Lean inclusive of running monthly operating reviews, establishing KPIs, leading teams through data driven problem solving and root cause corrective actions as well as a long-term Lean roadmap.
Experience in effectively managing a significant budget, including and experience in reallocating funds to achieve the best business outcomes.
Expertise with Lean and Agile. Demonstrated understanding of Agile principles and tools used for effective team and work management.
Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are ambiguous.
Uses critical thinking skills and organizational skills to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions.
Self-Driven, autonomous, and can proactively identify and remove obstacles for organization.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members, including providing timely feedback on performance toward goals.
Highly effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with leadership.
Ability to support nonstandard working hours driven by operations work and possess the ability to prioritize under pressure.
