About the Role

As a key member of the AI/BI team, the Business Intelligence Specialist will play a key role in designing and development of BI solutions to drive data-driven decision-making culture across the organisation. The incumbent will be responsible for the design, implementation, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions under the BI Centre of Excellence (BI CoE), supporting a wide range of business applications. Combining technical acumen with strategic thinking, the role delivers actionable insights that improve performance and enable smarter business outcomes.

  • Interprets data to generate insights. Uses tools like SQL, Excel, or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create dashboards and reports for decision-making.
  • Creates user interfaces and dashboards to present data insights. Focuses on usability, interactivity, and clarity of visualizations.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions that drive measurable impact across AIA business units and Group office functions.
  • Create reusable BI assets for fast and high-quality delivery across business units.
  • Drive cross-functional and cross-geographical collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on BI platforms and methodologies.
  • Provide consultancy on BI platform design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for BI solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost benefits analysis on business intelligence tools.
  • Ensure regular communication with AIA Group Offices and local business units.
  • Define BI standards and best practices.

  • Adherence to project budgets
  • Cost optimization (resources allocations, etc.)

  • Project delivery timeliness
  • Stakeholder satisfaction
  • Quality of project documentation

Communication Requirements

Internal:

  • Collaborate with Data Modeler, Data engineer, Solution Architect, AI teams and business teams
  • Regular updates to management and stakeholders

External:

  •  Liaise with vendors and partners as needed

Minimum Job Requirements

  • University/college graduate
  • Experience working in a data / BI team
  • Proficient in Power BI
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in data / BI development
  • Strong foundation in data analytics, including statistical analysis, data modeling, and deriving actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques such as Python, R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks is a plus
  • Ability to effectively build lasting relationships by demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills throughout all levels of the organization
  • Positive towards challenges and able to lead change
  • Optimistic; positive attitude; able to work in growing, fast paced and ambitious environment, flexible and adaptable to change
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Mandarin and English
