Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Research Associate to coordinate and support a crucial research project investigating university student mental health through the lens of digital health and behavioral sciences. University student mental health is a growing concern, and this research project aims to gain valuable insights on the subject matter and potentially develop interventions through digital phenotyping and behavioral science approaches. The Research Associate will play a pivotal role in driving the project forward by coordinating and supporting the management its various aspects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data Collection Management: Design and manage data collection processes, including setting up and administering various data collection tools; implement protocols for accurate data collection; adhere to all university policies concerning security, safety, and participant confidentiality.

  • Participant Recruitment and Management: Assist with project administration, including recruiting and managing research participants; develop and implement strategies to promote study participation and achieve target recruitment goals; and oversee participant follow-up assessments).

  • Data Compliance and Engagement: Monitor daily data compliance rates by participants and take corrective actions when necessary; and implement strategies to support and promote participant engagement throughout the entire project.

  • Data Analysis, Reporting and Communication: Support data analysis and data interpretation; prepare reports and other documents for project meetings; participate in regular team meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Project Operations and Collaboration: Handle daily operational and administrative tasks associated with the research project; and collaborate effectively with the project team, both internally and externally.

  • Travel to different project sites when necessary. Perform any other project-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

  • Contribute to the development of manuscripts and grant proposals to secure funding for future research projects

Competencies and requirements:

Qualification

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as social science, life science, psychology, anthropology, or a related discipline.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in research development.

  • Proven experience in quantitative research methods, and knowledge in qualitative research methods.

  • Prior experience with academic publication processes and reports.

Competencies and Skills

  • Strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in relevant research software and technology.

  • Strong data management and statistical analysis skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
