Job Summary:

We’re seeking a subject matter expert in Record-to-Report (R2R) with focus on Cash, Bank, and Treasury Accounting. The role requires proven experience in bank reconciliations, clearing open items, posting cash/treasury journal entries, and supporting a timely, controlled month-end close.

As Senior Accountant – Cash & Bank, Treasury Accounting, you will ensure accuracy and completeness of related balances in the general ledger, enhance reconciliation and accounting processes, and strengthen internal controls for reliable reporting. You’ll leverage ERP systems (SAP ECC/S4HANA), Blackline, and automation tools (Excel, VBA/macros, RPA, workflow optimization) to drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Additionally, you’ll identify and implement automation or process improvements to streamline journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting for a faster close and improved data quality.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Initiate accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP
  • Monitor the accounting closing process and post journal entries for any required adjustments in the local ledger
  • Support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations
  • Drive process control rigor to support quarterly certification on financials
  • Implement monthly financial reports and analytics to support structured risk-based monthly financial reviews
  • Implement statutory financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory audits
  • Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities
  • Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 to 9+ years of relevant experience in R2R accounting with specialization in Cash and bank accounting, treasury and bank reconciliations with overall up to 12 years of experience in record to report

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent qualification. CA or CMA is a plus

  • Perform end-to-end R2R activities for cash and bank accounting & Treasury including daily/periodic postings and month-end close deliverables

  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP (S/4HANA) for GL postings, cash/bank processes, and month-end activities

  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries related to cash movements, bank charges/interest, treasury activities etc. and reclasses in line with accounting policies

  • Execute bank reconciliations clear bank open items, and ensure timely resolution of breaks with strong root-cause analysis

  • Operate and maintain account reconciliations in Blackline (end-user), including preparation, substantiation, aging reviews, and certification within defined timelines

  • Investigate variances between bank statements, sub-ledgers, and GL; coordinate resolution with Treasury, AP/AR, Payroll, and local finance teams as required

  • Support cash-related controls and compliance requirements (including SOX where applicable), ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and audit trails

  • Drive/support process improvements and automation in finance operations using advanced Excel (Power Query/pivots), VBA/macros, bots/RPA tools, or workflow enhancements to reduce manual effort and errors

  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and close calendars for cash/bank and treasury accounting processes

  • Partner with internal/external auditors by providing reconciliations, support schedules, and evidence; address audit queries with strong documentation and responsiveness

  • Support ERP enhancements or transitions (SAP ECC to SAP (S/4HANA)), including testing, process mapping, and hyper care support as needed

  • Support cash-related controls and compliance requirements (including SOX where applicable), ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and audit trails

  • Drive/support process improvements and automation in finance operations using advanced Excel (Power Query/pivots), VBA/macros, bots/RPA tools, or workflow enhancements to reduce manual effort and errors

  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and close calendars for cash/bank and treasury accounting processes

  • Partner with internal/external auditors by providing reconciliations, support schedules, and evidence; address audit queries with strong documentation and responsiveness

  • Support ERP enhancements or transitions (SAP ECC to SAP (S/4HANA)), including testing, process mapping, and hyper care support as needed

  • Blackline experience as an end-user (reconciliations/tasks preparation/certification)

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, reconciliation models, large data handling); exposure to Power Query/Power Pivot is a plus
