How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing first-line technical support to Airgas customers. This includes resolving hardware, software, printer, and network-related issues, as well as providing advice and guidance on the use of technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be flexible to work within the core operating hours of 7am-9pm EST
  • Respond to inbound support requests via phone, email, and chat
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Provide remote desktop support
  • Thoroughly document and track support incidents in the service desk software 
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Stay current with the latest technology and industry developments

Are you a MATCH?

Requirements:

  • At least 1- 3 years of experience in an IT service desk role

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to execute sound judgment when escalating incidents and problems

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Experience in relevant Microsoft technologies, including Windows, Office, Active Directory and basic network concepts

  • Experience in relevant Google Applications, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides

  • Experience with remote desktop tools

  • PC repair and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Strong problem solving abilities with the to execute sound judgment when escalating incidents and problems

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)

  • A+ certification or equivalent technical certification (preferred)

While this position commonly entails 90–95% sitting and the remaining time standing or walking, the following physical demands could be associated with this position:

  •  ​Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time

  • Lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds (i.e. a small equipment or office supplies).

  •  Stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing or reaching (i.e. for cabling).

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.

  • Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment.

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving office machine parts. 

  • Must be able to work in a smoke-free and drug-free workplace.
