The Finance Team includes Finance Business Partnership, Accounting, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for an Accountant to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team and various cross functional teams, you will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, as well as optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. You will collaborate with these, and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting and local statutory reporting.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for areas, as assigned

  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Prepare various reconciliations and analysis of account activity

  • Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX

  • Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits

  • Improve and document general processes for assigned areas

  • Drive and provide support for ad hoc projects and analyses

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.

  • Accounting knowledge and an understanding of US GAAP and IFRS

  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A proactive person who can multitask, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods

  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

  • 1+ years of experience as an accounting professional

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or in progress for qualification

  • Big 4 firm experience

  • Listed and/or large private company experience

  • Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, etc.)
