The Developer Productivity Engineering (DPE) team enables the PayPal Developer experiences that powers PayPal’s business. We deliver a seamlessly scalable, exceptionally efficient, highly reliable developer experience services, platform & infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment. PayPal Pipelines team is developing CI/CD solution for entire organization to standardize the SDLC process at PayPal. Thousands of engineers at PayPal commit code daily and every commit trigger’s CI/CD process to evaluate it against the high-quality standards set by PayPal. As a Staff DevOps Engineer you will work within a team of highly talented engineers, product manager to design, develop, & maintain a highly scalable, reliable, & self-service Pipelines Platform. In this role for the Pipelines team, you will use your skills & experience as a software engineer, to influence the platform vision, architecture and execution of the key capabilities of PayPal’s Developer experience platform. Job Responsibilities:
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the SDLC, from ideation to scoping to design & implementation.
  • You will lead by example, and elevate the design, implementation, quality, and strong engineering practices across the team.
  • Utilize programming skills in Java, Groovy, Go and other similar programming languages to build highly scalable systems. Produce code that is sufficiently supported by unit tests.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to the project. Code review peer's work, triage and solve live issues.
  • Participate fully in all scrum team activities. Work with cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing architectural & developer documentations and create new ones.
  • Consistently invest in your career growth through new technical or soft skills learnings.
  • You will be a customer campaign, helping internal PayPal to onboard to Pipelines solution and enhance pipelines SDLC solution to adhere with ever changing needs.
  • Have high energy and capable of thriving in high-paced and fun work environment.

What you need to bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) is desired.
  • Overall 8+ years of experience including Object Oriented programming, software design, data structures and programming fundamentals.
  • Experience with DevOps – Jenkins, CI/CD, Terraform (IoC) and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Harness CI/CD platform or related CI/CD platform(s) is highly desired
  • Experience with Java, Groovy, Golang, Python, scripting languages.
  • Competency using Git, Build tools such as Gradle, Maven.
  • Experience with Docker/Containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Experience or Certification in public cloud technologies GCP or AWS is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience with Unix/Linux administration, Service Oriented Architectures is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Git, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, in an Agile environment a plus.
  • Experience delivering on objectives & key results in an Agile ecosystem
  • Good understanding of algorithmic techniques, design patterns and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Self-Starter, Effective Communication, Data driven, Team player.
  • Demonstrated experience of building distributed systems with high scalability & availability.
