Position Summary:

The Business System's Operations team is located at the intersection of Product, Scheduling & Cell Logistics, IT, and System Support Teams. This is a multi-disciplinary role requiring skills in Product Operations, Process Improvement, Project Management, and Reporting & Analytics.

The Sr. Specialist Business Systems Operations should feel at home breaking down complex technical explanations for audiences of non-SMEs, defining and leading the resolution timeline of production defects, driving consensus across diverse groups of stakeholders as to system best practices, and rolling up their sleeves to execute and improve manual processes.

Process improvement's identified and implemented by the Sr. Specialist Business Systems Operations will play a key role in the growth of Patient Operations. As Bristol Myers Squibb's Cell Therapy business grows rapidly through the commercialization of its first CAR-T products, the processes supporting ongoing business operations for the GPS (Global Patient Services) system need to scale with the growth in size of its user base.

The Sr. Specialist Business Systems Operations reports through the Sr. Manager Business Systems Operations in the Global Patient Operations organization. Together they partner closely with teams from Product, Scheduling & Cell Logistics, Quality, Apheresis Operations, Learning & Development, Support teams from multiple integrated systems, and IT partners to drive the prioritization of maintenance releases and communication around production defects. They tactfully divide their impact across ongoing daily operational execution and longer-term projects to support the growth of the GPS System. The team owns the process and leads the response to critical Business Continuity Events impacting the system or healthcare providers' ability to use it.

Responsibilities:

Business Operations Management, Process Improvement

  • Understand key Patient Operations, Scheduling and Cell Logistics, and Apheresis Operations business processes and workflows to support daily operational business needs
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and innovate key Patient Operations business processes

Product Operations

  • Own GPS Support production defect fix backlog, manage backlog intake and prioritize open defects based on business impact
  • Conduct interviews with end-users and stakeholder to determine business impact of production issues
  • Own communications channels for updates on resolution, available workarounds, and impact of production defects
  • Partner closely with IT Support teams to quickly understand severity of issues and communicate resolution plans
  • Own release delivery activities for maintenance releases, including testing review / approval and ensuring proper change management requirements are completed
  • Manage user access request, approval, and training verification processes

Compliance:

  • Own Patient Operations recurring quality review processes (internal and external user access, audit trail reporting, etc.)
  • Manage relevant audit requests, findings, and remediation actions
  • Manage Business System Owner responsibilities for maintaining compliance in operations of Global Patient Operations Systems
  • Own definition and monitoring of Patient Operations Sarbanes-Oxley controls
  • Support maintenance and enhancement of business continuity plans
  • Monitor and ensure progression of GPS Corrective and Preventative action records through our Quality Management Systems  

Reporting:

  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine the success of our Product Management, IT Support and order exception activities and present to Patient Operations Stakeholder groups
  • Support cross functional reporting requests, partner with business insights & analytics and enterprise data lake teams for reporting & data requests & questions
  • Partner with IT and Stakeholder groups to gain greater understanding of how our users interact with our system and analyze that data for key learnings and enhancements

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience working in the technology / healthcare / or supply chain preferably as a business analyst, product manager, or project manager
  • Experience in supporting major system implementations / deployment
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a high pace and frequently shifting environment
  • Adept problem solver and process improver
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and agile development methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or technology
  • Knowledge in operations of validated GMP/GXP systems
  • Experience in writing user stories in JIRA
  • Software validation experience

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $$82,000 - $102,000,

plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed.
