Position Summary


CVS Health seeks a Decision Scientist to join the Merchandising Analytics team within Analytics & Behavior Change. In this individual contributor role, you will shape and execute a customer-centric analytics strategy across Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness (PCW). You’ll partner closely with analytics and business leaders to drive growth through merchandising and sales analytics, leveraging advanced data modeling, UI development, and generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive, data-driven understanding of business performance and shopping behaviors.
  • Identifying friction points in how merchants and analysts use current BI tools and develop solutions that improve analytical process efficiency and open doors to novel insights using the latest technologies.
  • Design, build, and deploy complex data models that span finance, operations, and consumer data domains.
  • Leverage generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to streamline processes and create new business opportunities.
  • Create compelling data visualizations and deliver clear, actionable insights to inform strategic decisions in merchandising and sales.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Merchandising, Finance, and Data Science teams to translate analytics into targeted, actionable business solutions.


Required Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of experience with Python, SQL, and cloud applications (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • 1-2+ years of experience solving analytics problems using common BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • 1-2+ years of industry experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences and delivering clear insights.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad proficiency in mathematical analysis, machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, with depth in one or more areas.
  • Experience designing and deploying complex, scalable data models in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with causal inference analysis.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data pipeline and warehouse solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
  • Experience developing and evaluating large language models.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$86,520.00 - $173,040.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
