SCUK Data Quality & Controls Manager

The Data Quality and Controls Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive data quality and controls programme that ensures accurate, complete, and reliable data across all our systems.

They will manage the rollout of Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) within Santander Consumer UK (SCUK) to enhance the automation and completeness of controls in the organisation and will work closely with teams from across the business to develop and implement best practices for data quality management and control. You will manage data quality and integrity initiatives, workstreams, and line manage Data Quality Analysts as part of the wider SCUK Data team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data quality issues and oversee the implementation of data quality controls.

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 2 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support and manage the design and implementation of data quality and integrity controls, aligned to the Santander data management policies.

  • Embed Informatica Data Quality as the strategic tool for data quality and integrity controls within SCUK.

  • Maintain, monitor and support existing SAS data quality and integrity controls.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate data integrity controls are designed, tested, implemented and operated across SCUK’s internal systems and external connections to third party systems and data sources.

  • Partner with the business to influence and enhance the value of Data Quality across the company.

  • Manage project workstreams relating to data quality and integrity.

  • Manage the Data Quality team, including direct line management and resource management, to ensure effective delivery to the business.

  • Ensure monthly data quality reporting is completed.

  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with Risk Data Aggregation requirements under Basel regulation BCBS239.

  • Take a leading role in fulfilling ad hoc requests and projects related to data quality and integrity controls.

  • Assist in the maintenance, implementation and annual review of relevant models, policies, and procedures.

  • Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework.

  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our Customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we’re looking for:

  • Practical experience in a similar role with demonstrable experience of developing, implementing, managing and monitoring data quality and integrity controls adapted to the organisation served

  • Excellent emotional intelligence, influencing and collaboration skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Proven experience and ability in dealing with staff at all levels of a similar sized organisation or larger

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities while multitasking effectively

  • Ability to quickly gain a good understanding of new business areas and systems

  • Be able to work alone as well as integrate into an established team

  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment for results and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple initiatives

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities while multitasking effectively

  • Solid work ethic with attention to detail

  • Project management experience in the implementation of Data Quality solutions is desirable

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Analytics) is desirable

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CMDP) is desirable
