Job Description
In this hybrid role you focus specifically on validation and optimization of high-speed link integrity at both the die-level and at the interface between DRAM package and memory controller. You are part of our Design Readiness organization which carries responsibility for all DRAM validation activities, ensuring all current and future products achieve the highest level of performance, quality, and specification compliance.
We are innovators at heart who define new DRAM characterization techniques and trim solutions to optimize DRAM performance and margin in application. You partner with teams in Architecture, Design, Systems, Product and Test Engineering to define the most effective and efficient solutions to achieve IO dominance for Micron.
Main Focus
Develop new testing strategies to enable more efficient and effective validation of DRAM specifications (i.e. char flows, improved methodologies).
Develop novel measurement and tuning methodologies to achieve outstanding system-level IO performance. Drive necessary architecture requirements for DRAM design.
Lead pathfinding and enablement activities on new architectures.
Collaborate with global and multi-functional teams.
Qualifications
BS, MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
10 years of experience in the semiconductor (or related) industry, preferably in Design, Product Engineering or Architecture roles.
Expert knowledge of high speed (Gigabit link) transmission challenges and mitigation techniques, including equalizers.
Thorough knowledge of backend semiconductor manufacturing.
Thorough knowledge of transceiver optimization techniques in production (wafer, package, module).
Knowledge of system IO characteristics and tuning capabilities.
Experience with automated test equipment and common laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes / spectrum analyzers
