Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Dual Eligible Programs, and working cross-functionally with Clinical leadership, this role is responsible for two key functions at the health plan. First, this role is responsible for leading MGB Health Plan's Product Innovation strategy, development, and implementation for the Dual Eligible Programs line of business. In addition, this role also provides critical support to the cross-functional Medical Cost Management team from overall strategy to solution development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring, driving affordability and trend management work across multiple lines of business.

Essential Functions
1. Affordability / Trend Management Vision and Strategy
• Support senior leadership from Actuarial, Medical Economics, Clinical, Analytics, and Operations to develop and articulate the strategic vision for medical cost-saving (i.e., trend management) initiatives across all lines of business, ensuring alignment with MGB Health Plan’s overall goals.
• Support senior leadership to establish key targets and key performance indicators (KPIs),
• Collaborate with Medical Economics and Clinical teams to use data-driven analysis to identify emerging and ongoing cost-driving trends and develop solutions.

-2. Affordability / Trend Management Initiative Development
• Develop business cases for new concepts, including needs assessments, cost/benefit analysis, and financial/operational impacts.
• Establish and deploy a strategic framework to prioritize initiatives.
• Conduct/support vendor assessments and evaluations.
• Collaborate with key business partners, e.g., Sales, Corporate Strategy / Market Research, Clinical, Finance / Actuarial, EPMO, IT, Marketing, Provider Contracting, to gather input and ensure alignment.

-3. Medical Cost Management Implementation and Portfolio Management
• Collaborate with EPMO, SPMO, and key business leaders to implement prioritized initiatives.
• Align resources to accomplish key objectives; clearly convey and assign clear accountability for important objectives, deadlines, and expectations.
• Identify and facilitate resolution of key issues and risks.
• Manage and optimize the portfolio of initiatives being implemented to achieve business objectives.
• Make decisions as needed and build consensus as appropriate.
• Work with Medical Economics and Clinical teams to define, track, and monitor key performance indicators to measure success.

-4. Product Innovation Vision and Strategy
• Lead the development of the product innovation roadmap for the Dual Eligible Programs line of business based on organizational objectives, market needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Assess product capabilities to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and understanding of market demands.
• Synthesize market research and trends to identify key product priorities.

-5. Product Innovation Solution Development
• Develop business cases for new concepts,
Establish and deploy a strategic framework to prioritize initiatives.
• Conduct external market testing to refine and validate innovation concepts and prototypes.
• Conduct/support vendor assessments and evaluations.
• Collaborate with key business partners, e.g., Sales, Corporate Strategy / Market Research, Clinical, Finance / Actuarial, EPMO, IT, Marketing, Provider Contracting, to gather input and ensure alignment.

-6. Product Innovation Implementation and Portfolio Management
• Lead team to implement prioritized strategies and initiatives.
• Oversee work plans, documentation, and job aids for key functions and processes performed.
• Align resources to accomplish key objectives; clearly convey and assign clear accountability for important objectives, deadlines, and expectations.
• Define, track, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success,
• Periodically assess whether to continue, modify, or sunset existing programs based on performance and evolving business needs,

-7. Strategic Leadership, Team Management, and Communication
• Provide oversight and leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, focus, continuous improvement, and innovative thinking.
• Manage team effectively to achieve business objectives, providing necessary mentoring and coaching for team development and growth.
• Communicate and cascade information effectively across various levels of the organization and serve as a central point for product innovation and trend management roadmaps.


 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration required; Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree


Experience

  • At least 8-10 years of product strategy, innovation, development, and management experience in a health plan or provider-related organization required
