Position Highlights:

Position: Patient Care Technician,

•     Location: Evanston Hospital

•     Full Time/Part Time: 32 hours per week

•     Hours:  3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

•     Required Travel: N/A

What you will need:

  • License: N/A

  • Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred

  • Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association. If not current or does not have certification, required to obtain within the employee's introductory period (within 90 days of hire date).

  • Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred

What you will do:

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care

  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse

  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan

  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit

  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
