Operations & Maintenance Technician Intern

About the Role

The Operations & Maintenance Technician Intern will gain hands‑on experience at a landfill gas‑to‑Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) processing facility by working alongside experienced Operations Technicians. This 10‑week, paid internship offers real‑world exposure to plant operations, equipment, safety practices, and maintenance activities in a supportive, learning‑focused environment.

This role is designed for learning and development. Interns will work under close supervision and mentoring and will not be expected to work independently or make operational decisions.

Please note: Location for potential full‑time positions may vary.

Internship Duration: 10 weeks
Pay Rate: $25/hour

Education Requirement

  • Currently enrolled in or within one year of graduation from a technical school, vocational program, or related program in operations, maintenance, engineering, or a technical field.

What You’ll Learn

Under the supervision of site leadership and Operation/Maintenance Technicians, you will:

  • Shadow technicians during daily plant operations and learn safety and environmental compliance practices.
  • Assist with routine equipment inspections and observe operating conditions.
  • Learn how operational data and logs are collected and reviewed.
  • Observe and assist with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Gain exposure to instrumentation, monitoring systems, and process controls.
  • Support housekeeping, documentation, and tool/material organization.
  • Learn basic analytical testing processes (e.g., pH, methane, H₂S) through guided participation.
  • Receive hands‑on safety training, including lockout/tagout awareness.
