The Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated ServiceNow Developer with a strong emphasis on CMDB and Discovery to help us implement, improve, and ensure the operational stability of our Configuration Management Database and associated discovery/integration procedures. The ideal candidate will have practical experience setting up ServiceNow Discovery, handling CI data, and conforming to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to guarantee reliable, accurate, and useful data on the platform.
Responsibilities:
Performing day-to-day administration and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on supporting CMDB and Discovery activities
Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues related to CMDB data, integration errors, and CI relationships
Developing reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor CMDB health and provide insights for decision-making
Conducting regular audits, reconciliation activities, and data integrity checks to maintain a healthy CMDB
Integrating with external data sources using Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, or importing sets to enrich CI data
Collaborating with stakeholders to define discovery schedules, scopes, and CI attributes relevant to business needs
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including CMDB and Discovery
Experience deploying and managing MID Servers, credentials, and discovery probes/patterns
Experience troubleshooting discovery errors and CI population issues using logs, probes, sensors, and patterns
A solid understanding of ITIL principles, especially Configuration Management, and experience applying them in an enterprise CMDB environment
Proficiency in designing CI relationships, dependency mappings, and data normalization strategies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
