We are currently seeking a Quality Control Technician in Midland, Texas. The Quality Control Technician I will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, first articles, and in-process and final inspections. The incumbent will use various gauges and hand tools to validate dimensions, features and other characteristics of prototype and production components, subassemblies, and finished goods for conformance to customer, engineering, and company quality requirements.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with opportunity for overtime as business demands. Potential for on-call periods to be required.

Pay: Pay starts at $21.90, can be adjusted with experience.

What You Will Do:

• Must have the ability or be willing to learn to use and read analog and digital inspection tools, instruments, and gauges including indicators, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other equipment as necessary to validate the quality of product
• Review company records, such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, material test reports, and nonconformance reports to determine results of quality tests
• Record inspection results and mark stamp of approval
• Prepare rejection reports as necessary

What You Will Have:

• High school education or equivalent experience required

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Experience obtaining a API 6A, API 6AR or ISO 9001 certifications

Physical Demands: 

• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
• Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Consistently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Work Environment: 

• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
• Noise Level: Moderate

Summary Pay Range:

$21.90 - $29.35
