Inside the Role

Join the Medium Duty & Vocational Segment Strategy team and help set DTNA’s direction in the medium duty and vocational truck market. This role is responsible for translating customer, dealer, and market insights into actionable product and software requirements, while defining and executing segment-level strategies that drive market share growth, regulatory compliance, and competitive differentiation.

This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Software, Product Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Service, Quality, and Regulatory teams, and requires strong technical understanding, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence without authority.

Position offers a starting salary range of $104,000 - $133,000 USD  

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Collect and analyze market, customer, and regulatory needs and translate them into clear product and software feature requirements.

  • Develop and submit Design Requests (DRs), including detailed Use Case Definitions (UCDs) that define functional requirements and operator interaction for hardware and software features.

  • Serve as subject‑matter expert for the Medium Duty and Vocational tractor product portfolio (e.g., M2, SD, X‑Series).

  • Develop and execute segment strategies to drive market share and unit sales growth for Vocational Tractors.

  • Define Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and regulatory compliance strategies in coordination with engineering and regulatory affairs.

  • Plan and facilitate Medium Duty & Vocational End‑User Customer Councils.

  • Maintain competitive intelligence and SWOT analyses for assigned segments.

  • Partner with Segment Strategy leadership to identify product content, pricing, positioning, marketing, and training gaps.

  • Collaborate with customers, dealers, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, CAE, Service, and Quality teams to evaluate new product and software initiatives for U.S., Canadian, and international markets.

  • Develop business cases, volume assumptions, pricing strategies, project scope definitions, and competitor comparisons.

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present recommendations to senior leadership.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field.

  • 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in product strategy, product management, engineering, or a comparable technical role.

  • Demonstrated understanding of software development processes, system requirements definition, and cross‑functional product delivery.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and make sound decisions with limited guidance.

  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 30%

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience working with commercial vehicle products, powertrain systems, or regulated environments.

  • Experience interfacing directly with customers and dealers.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with emissions regulations, vehicle certification processes, or compliance strategy.
