 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Customs Compliance officer (Lead Trade Compliance Analyst) to join our - GLBLBusSvcs-Stat, Payroll&Trade -Global Finance Services Division.

The incumbent would be Monitoring and evaluating import/export operations and ensures compliance to applicable global trade laws.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield office, Bangalore, KA -India

What you will do

• Developing and implementing customs compliance procedures and policies adhering to Caterpillar enterprise standards and India Customs regulations.

• Coordinate with the India Legal, Trade Compliance team to respond to queries, letters, investigations and show cause notices issued by Indian Customs.

• Reviewing and verifying customs declarations and other documentation for accuracy.

• Classifying products according to the Harmonized System (HS) code - Support India facilities to determine HTS Classification for the New products/components and periodic validation of existing products/components.

• Review & study the customs ruling(s) in India and provide the HTS support and drive consistency across all the Indian facilities to avoid potential risks caused by erroneous/inconsistent tariff declarations.

• Coordinate with the engineering & other internal team and provide the professional support and explanation to the India facilities when the parts are subject to Customs inspection.

• Communicating with customs officials and representatives on behalf of the organization including Customs audit.

• Providing guidance and support to internal teams on customs-related matters including Anti-dumping matters & other trade related tariffs/barriers.

• Conducting periodical reviews to ensure compliance with customs regulations and procedures. Identifying and mitigating potential customs risks and issues.

• Providing training to India facilities on customs compliance issues.

• Managing record keeping systems & databases for all customs documentation.

What you will have.

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Proven experience as a Compliance professional.
• Experience in risk management.
• Integrity and professional ethics.
• Business acumen.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Graduate or professional degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Certified compliance professional is a plus.
• This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
