Sales Operations Intern Job Description

The role you’ll play:

At its core, sales operations is about supporting and enabling frontline sales teams to sell more efficiently and effectively by providing strategic planning and reducing friction in the sales process. The Sales Operations intern will join a recently-established and growing team, helping to build and scale our sales operations and enablement team and drive an impact at InterSystems. In this role, you will gain exposure to sales and marketing analytics, contribute to financial and operational reporting, and help achieve our mission of driving improvement of business processes to drive growth and scale. Being on the ground floor with this team will allow you to witness and actively contribute to the growing scope and operationalization of our Sales Operations function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in Sales Enablement onboarding process, including structured and informal sessions to enable you to prepare questions and suggest areas for improvement
  • Working with senior analytics professionals to gain exposure to current financial and operational reporting
  • Leading and contributing to assigned key Sales Operations initiatives which may include one or more of the following topics:
    • Reporting and Analysis including Pipeline and Territory Management
    • Improving the Processes for Analytics Delivery
    • Master Data Management (MDM) to support effective sales execution
    • Sales Enablement Playbook development
    • Unifying Sales tool access through a Sales Resource Center
  • Assist with other tasks assigned by the team.
  • Prepare and present summary of your experience, key learnings, and improvement recommendations at the end of your internship.

Program Details:

  • Start Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2025 – Ensure availability for this kickoff date, as all interns must start at this time.
  • Duration: 12 Weeks – Internships will conclude on Friday, August 15, 2025.

  • Networking: Forge connections with fellow interns and InterSystems staff through informal gatherings and social events.
  • Career Opp­ortunities: Successful interns are better positioned to be invited back for future summer internships, or to join our company full-time after graduating.

Qualifications:

              Internship candidates:

  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program
  • Are preferably enrolled in business, STEM, or healthcare-related majors
  • Exposure to database, analysis, and business intelligence concepts, with intermediate Excel skills
  • Have a collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Demonstrated initiative through academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, or work experience
  • Show strong communication and analytic skills.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office products.
