Essential Job Statements
Responsible for program portfolio desired outcomes through day-to-day administration and management of program’s scope, schedule, quality, communication & stakeholder management, risk management, change management, resource and financial management.
Collaborate with health system and departmental leadership, the IT program manager develops the overall approach for assigned program, its major time frames, dependencies, and the definition of program value deliverables.
Facilitate communication between IT teams and operational stakeholders to build and maintain relationships across stakeholder communities and alignment for successful program outcomes.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of existing and developing technologies relevant to assigned program to serve as domain knowledge resource for assigned program.
Directs the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts.
Leads, collaborates, and mentors cross functional teams in support of complex enterprise solutions and programs.
Identifies, develops, and executes cross functional continuous improvement programs framed by metrics illustrating effectiveness of assigned program.
Demonstrate personal ownership and accountability for safety across the area of responsibility by role modeling daily key concepts of a high reliability organization as personal work habits.
Perform other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department.
Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health

Employment Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Informatics, Business & Project Management, or Engineering & Data Analytics
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Informatics, Business & Project Management, or Engineering & Data Analytics
Licensing/ Certification
Licensure/Certification Required: PMP Certification or similar project management certification Scrum Master
Licensure/Certification Preferred: Lean Six Sigma (LSS)
Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience with organizational-wide, complex with inter-project dependencies. Working knowledge of associated implementation methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches.

Ability to promote teamwork, Ability to manage project implementation teams and individuals and monitor the deliverables of each team, Effective interpersonal skills, Consultative approach to working with users in assessing needs and requirements, Ability to manage multiple tasks with ease and efficiency, Knowledge and practical experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean) and Agile methodology, Knowledge and experience of change management principles and methodologies and tools.
Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel. May have periods of constant interruptions.
