Position Summary:

As the Lead Director of Consumer Payments, you are responsible for managing all aspects of Payment Acceptance and Processing including Payment Authorization, Payment Strategy, PCI Compliance, Privacy/Security of Payment Data and Data Incident Management.  This includes existing payments like debit, credit, Digital Wallets, FSA, HSA, Filtered Spend Benefit and eCheck/ACH.  This role will allow you to work closely with the card brands, our card processors, and provide strong operational and analytical support for the team. You will also be responsible for Accounting and Month End Close functions.

This unique leadership role requires a diverse skillset in Payments, Operations, PCI Compliance, Privacy & Security, Contract Negotiation, Consulting Services, Finance, Accounting, Budgeting/Forecasting, Expense & Income Management, Reporting & Analytics, Database Management, Project Management and Vendor Management.  You will collaborate with Senior Leaders across Finance, IT, Legal, Digital, Security & Compliance and Operations to drive Payment Modernization and seamless but cost-effective customer experiences. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of Payments Industry (Credit, Debit, Prepaid, FSA, HSA, Digital Wallets, Fintechs, Benefit Programs, ACH/eCheck)

  • Knowledge of transaction flows including Authorization and Settlement.  This includes the interaction between Banks, Networks, Processors, Payment Service Providers and Fintechs

  • Knowledge of funds flow including Sales and Fees (Interchange, Network, Processor, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Authentication and Fraud Prevention

  • Knowledge of IT Security and PCI DSS

  • Management of employees

  • Management of complex programs and processes

  • Project Management

  • Consulting Services

  • Database, Reporting & Analytics

  • Process and Program Improvement

  • Ability to travel up to 10% (including plane)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting and Finance

  • Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Presentation skills

  • Collaboration with multiple internal departments and external vendors and third parties

  • Think independently and make decisions in the best interest of the team and the company

  • Identify and resolve complex issues

  • Contracts, SOW’s and Contract Negotiation

  • Legal contract language (Indemnification, Limitation of Liability, Most Favored Nations, etc.)

  • Marketing concepts as it relates to Payments

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of related professional work experience may substitute

  • Master’s Degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
