Position details
To develop, implement, and manage robust procurement governance frameworks, strategic sourcing initiatives via India based suppliers / vendors, and compliance processes within MGS finance ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives, driving cost efficiencies, and mitigating supply chain risks across all MGS Finance operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Leverage existing relationships with the local [India based] vendors / suppliers to ensure Finance specific vendor management
- From MGS standpoint, establish, implement, and maintain Finance specific comprehensive procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with relevant international, Indian and SEZ laws and corporate standards.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to finance (Product Control, Accounting, FP&A, Account Payable, Regulatory Reporting, Capital Budgeting) and other finance cross-functional teams (TPRM) and senior stakeholders on procurement governance and policy matters.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, data-driven recommendations, and decision support to commercial and functional leaders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the CFO to shape and drive the financial strategy, planning, and policy for the MGS and the enterprise.
- Lead the annual budgeting and rolling five-year financial planning cycles, integrating workforce, technology, and commercial strategies
- Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with senior internal stakeholders across Risk and Information Technology at MGS and experiment the Art of the Possible
- Oversee the entire strategic procurement lifecycle, ensuring all activities are robustly and transparently managed.
- Liaise and work together with global and India GEO team to integrate finance sourcing and seek necessary approvals
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audit readiness, ensuring all procurement documentation and records are accurate and complete.
- Conduct in-depth market research and spend analysis to identify trends, cost drivers, and new opportunities for cost optimization and value creation.
- Align MGS’ procurement strategy with the overall business model
- Manage and lead complex, high-value procurement processes and contract negotiations with key globally originated but India based suppliers.
- Implement robust supplier risk assessment programs and develop mitigation strategies for potential disruptions.
- From a local MGS standpoint, oversee the selection, onboarding, and performance monitoring of suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, compliance, and performance standards.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives in ongoing procurement processes, leveraging digital tools and e-sourcing platforms.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
- Substantial experience in managing procurement/commercial projects or large commercial programs within a complex, global environment.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of relevant procurement legislation, policy, and commercial best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement technologies and e-sourcing tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Fusion).
- High level of cultural awareness and effective communication skills for working with diverse global teams.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
- A relevant professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly desirable.
