Job Description:

SVHA is looking for a highly-skilled hands-on Infrastructure Technical Specialist to join our Infrastructure team. The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the stability, integrity, security and efficient operation of the organisations on-premises enterprise storage infrastructure and virtualisation platforms, such as Dell Isilon & Unity, Cisco UCS Hyperflex and VMWare Virtualisation platform across multiple Data Centres.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the design, implementation, and deployment of storage infrastructure including Storage Capacity Design, Storage Replication and Datacentre Disaster Recovery on Hyperflex, Isilon and Dell EMC Storage
  • Managing the storage infrastructure, preparing reports, providing technical guidance to staff, optimizing the performance of the storage infrastructure, and addressing critical issues
  • Oversees the design, documentation, implementation, problem solving and technical support for mission critical storage infrastructure
  • Play a key role in keeping up to date with industry standard DR Solution across four datacentres
  • Identify production issues and suggest proactive remediations and take an active part in incident resolution and deliver future-proofing services
  • Responsible for daily, routine IT management and administration tasks to ensure core storage infrastructure runs 24 hours x 7 days x 365
  • Manage, coordinate, and apply vendor-released core storage infrastructure related updates to server and storage environments, to ensure support compliance. This includes firmware, operating systems, and infrastructure applications (e.g. virtual server infrastructure, backup and monitoring applications, etc)
  • Actively participate in an after-business hours roster for applying software patches and updates to server operating systems, to ensure the security of the organisation’s IT infrastructure
  • Actively participate in an after-business hours On-Call support roster, to provide escalated infrastructure support of urgent business incidents and requests
  • Manages issue resolution through appropriate Service Desk tool and direct engagement with SVHA users
  • Actively implement and continuously improve support processes according to industry/best practice standards
  • Support the larger Digital & Technology team in making best use of allocated budget and existing investments in hardware and software

EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting large complex Microsoft environments
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting Cisco UCS and Hyperflex solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting Dell Isilon solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting Dell Unity Solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting VMware virtualisation environments
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Dell EMC storage environments
  • Working experience with current Microsoft technologies (server, desktop and applications)
  • Server hardware and peripherals knowledge and skills
  • Experience in the usage of systems configuration and change management processes and documentation

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience with Backup and Archiving Technologies
  • Experience in Data Centre migrations
    Certification of ITIL framework / foundations
