The Sr. Buyer will be primarily responsible for leading the efforts in sourcing and ordering materials, supplies, or services to meet the requirements of Energy US in accordance with the prime contracts, company policies, all regulatory bodies and CPSR requirements. The individual should be able to analyze purchase requisitions, initiate RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and negotiate, price, delivery, quality, and service.
Additionally, the candidate may be responsible for negotiating and settling with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellation, and engineering changes and should be able to issue and manage subsequent purchase orders. Relies on experience and judgment to plan, prioritize and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Candidate must be able to work independently on professional assignments using sound judgment solutions. The individual must have sound organizational skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years’ experience in processing and completing purchase orders, determining prices from available vendors which meet cost and quality guidelines and verifying receipt of purchase orders.

• Ability to work within company’s ERP system.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with conducting vendor negotiations and negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quality and cost in order to ensure end-users needs are met

• Experience in coordinating with accounts payable to resolve any issues with credit holds, credit card reconciliations or complex pricing problems in order to ensure prompt payment and avoid delays to the end user

• Knowledge of soliciting suppliers/vendors for materials, products and services through formal Requests for Quote (RFQ) and or Request for Proposals (RFPs)

• Ability to communicate effectively with the Program(s) Managers and supplier(s) during the course of procurement to ensure timely delivery in compliance with requirements.

• Prior experience with manufacturing

• Assist in the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies, participate on cross-functional teams to ensure that Energy US is leveraging its spend, effectively utilize resources, drive to best value and improve overall supplier performance management across our value chain.
