Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Poland Engineering and Technology Center is currently seeking an Airframe Structural Analysis Engineer in Customer Support to join our team located in Rzeszow, Poland.

The main role of the person in this position will be to provide engineering support to our customers (airlines and MROs) worldwide, respond to technical inquiries related to Airframe Structure issues that arise during the operation of our aircraft. On this position, you will evaluate various type of damages of aircraft components to restore structural integrity of aircraft. Develop solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. You will represent the organization by providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform structural analysis of aircraft structures (airframe: wing or fuselage). Structural analysis includes calculation of loads, static and fatigue analyses.
  • Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations.
  • Generate documentation (stress check notes) to report analysis results to support certification and qualification processes.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Develop repairs for airframe elements.
  • Work with regulatory framework (FAA) for warranting safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
  • Technical rigor and focus on excellence.

The individual must be ready to spend up to 20% of working time in business trips. The main destination is US, California.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, free-body diagrams, load path, structural loads, joints and structural analysis methods (hand calculation, analytical approach).
  • Intermediate English is a must.
  • Existing authorization to work in Poland.
  • Readiness to work in a flexible schedule (weekends/holidays support, overtime).

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

Relocation:

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in static analysis.
  • Knowledge of finite element method approach.
  • General knowledge of airplane - airframe structure will be beneficial.
  • Experienced in reading and understanding engineering models, drawings, specifications and various technical documentation.
  • Experienced in researching engineering designs in order to develop defect solutions to product/ process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
  • Solid communicator, intermediate in both written and verbal English
