Position Overview 

The Production Manager is responsible for leading production performance across a three-shift manufacturing operation. This role develops and implements processes, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives that support safety, quality, delivery performance, productivity, and inventory management. The Production Manager works closely with operations, sales, engineering, customer service, and other functional teams while developing supervisors, team leaders, and production personnel to achieve operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities 

 Lead all production activities within the value stream across a three-shift operation. 

 Implement safety improvements identified through incident and near-miss reporting programs. 

 Develop, audit, and coach Supervisors and Team Leaders on leader standard work. 

 Coordinate activities of supervisors, team leaders, maintenance personnel, and production employees while supporting their professional development. 

 Serve as a member of the production scheduling team. 

 Collaborate with customer service and customers to address delivery and quality concerns. 

 Assist leadership in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies. 

 Support and drive lean manufacturing and Business System initiatives. 

 Develop, implement, and sustain continuous improvement programs within production operations. 

 Contribute to monthly business planning activities and the annual budgeting process. 

 Ensure compliance with quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements. 

 Partner with accounting, administration, sales, engineering, and management teams to support business performance objectives. 

 Support and coordinate corporate and business unit initiatives as required. 

Required Skills and Qualifications 

 Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. 

 Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System (TPS), Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies. 

 Strong leadership and team development capabilities. 

 Ability to work collaboratively across departments and functions. 

 Strong customer focus with the ability to respond effectively to internal and external customer needs. 

 Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership. 

 Ability to adapt and perform effectively in rapidly changing environments. 

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

 Data-driven decision-making abilities. 

 Strong computer skills for communication, reporting, and analysis. 

 Solid business acumen. 

 Experience working directly with customers. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications 

 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 

 SAP experience. 

 Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing transformations. 

 Demonstrated ability to develop future leaders and build organizational capability. 

 Experience communicating strategic objectives and aligning teams toward business goals. 

 Strong technical knowledge with a commitment to ongoing professional development. 

 Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation. 

Physical Demands 

 Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 

 Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. 

 Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment containing moving mechanical parts. 

 Ability to perform work safely in an industrial setting with typical manufacturing noise levels.
