This position is for the North Louisiana region.

This job is responsible for strategic planning, direction and overall accountability for department. Coordinates all security functions system wide to provide the most efficient means of providing required services while meeting the company's mission and goals. Oversees the recruitment and development of employees, develops and administers departmental budgets, and assumes role as required for crisis situations. Researches, plans, develops and implements system-wide security programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in Business, Criminal Justice or related field

(10 years of law enforcement leadership can be substituted for degree requirement)

Work Experience

Required - 10 years related experience in law enforcement, as well as 5 years of supervision or management experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong team management skills.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of management principles and practices applicable directly to healthcare departments.
  • Must be skilled in design and application of computerized and electronic intrusion detection, access control and video surveillance systems.
  • Must be proficient in conducting/coordinating investigations in areas such as theft, fraud and accident.
  • Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule such as nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc. may be required.
  • Must demonstrate strong and effective management, judgment and decision skills.

Job Duties

  • Effectively directs departmental operations to meet budget, staffing, objective and a security management targets.
  • Reviews and develops security systems (procedural, electronic and manpower) to meet company needs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supports development and assists with implementation of the Emergency Management Plan and preparedness efforts.
  • Conducts and administers personnel investigations of a security related nature.
  • Researches and conceptually approves all security related equipment.
  • Acts as official company liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Participates in risk management activities, overseeing the investigation and evaluation of general liability claims.
  • Other related duties as required.
