We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

At PayPal, Product Leaders are building the future of commerce, keeping merchants and consumer at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking an exceptional product leader, the VP Agentic Product Leader, who thrives on changing the status quo and is laser focused on making every experience seamless, simple, and intuitive for our merchants. We are looking for someone with a passion to delight customers and is obsessed about data driven decision making. To be successful, the candidate needs to excel in highly collaborative, cross-functional and values-driven environment. Our SMBs are a key part of the economy and serve an essential role in the commerce flywheel. Today we have a set of products that service this segment – PayPal Complete Payments, Invoicing, P2P G&S and Payment Links. We are also building new products like B2B, Tap SDK, Subscription and Business profiles that could accelerate our penetration of this segment. As the VP of Agentic Product, you will lead a cross-functional team focused on redefining how small businesses engage, grow, and operate in an increasingly AI-powered world.

Job Description:

As the VP of Agentic Product, you will:  

  • Def ine and execute product strategy for SMB commerce enablement, spanning Catalog, Order Management Systems (OMS), Inventory Management (IMS), Shipping, Taxes etc.  

  • Lead the evaluation, build, or buy strategy for a modern OMS, with an eye toward capabilities related to inventory management, catalog management, and post-purchase services, such as returns.  

  • Drive key partnerships and acquisitions, especially across commerce infrastructure and AI-native developer platforms.  

  • Be a core contributor to PayPal’s Conversational AI strategy for SMBs and potentially large enterprises – from co-pilot style assistants to full agentic automation. Where applicable, drive the end-to-end vision and execution of assistants for SMBs. 

  • Be a core contributor to PayPal.ai and AI partnerships, working closely with external partners to build developer-facing integrations and tools.  

  • Partner with GTM, brand, and marketing teams to position PayPal as the platform of choice in the emerging “agentic commerce” category.  

  • Build and scale a world-class team, hiring and developing talent across PM, design, and strategy functions while working in tight collaboration with engineering.  

  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to navigate platform constraints while introducing modern product architecture and practices.  

  • Partner with design leadership to create innovative end-to-end experiences. 

  • Shape PayPal’s future NorthStar opportunities, driving innovation and long-term bets in AI and commerce across teams and verticals. 

Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement product strategies that align to PayPal and the Micro Business organization’s strategic objectives and ensure a cohesive and comprehensive vision across for Micro Business products. 

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch including research, design, development, and iteration. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with external partners (vendors, solution providers) and our internal teams like commercial, marketing, customer service, legal, risk, compliance and technology teams to ensure product success.  Facilitate communication and alignment across departments. 

  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the development and execution of enterprise-level strategic planning processes, aligning projects and program roadmaps with the organization’s overarching vision and OKR’s.  Ensure that all initiatives are strategically positioned to maximize their contribution to the company’s long-term success. 

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Product Leaders.  Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and performance excellence. 

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach a diverse team of Product Leaders across different geographies, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Participate in personal performance management and development activities including cross-training.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Engineering or a related field 

  • Experienced product manager with significant time spent in complex, large-scale technology environments (e.g., legacy systems, slow adoption of new tools, heavy compliance). 

  • Proven success building product orgs that ship at scale — with accountability for infrastructure, technical architecture, and end-to-end product outcomes.  

  • Deep understanding of commerce systems (e.g., catalog, OMS, billing), developer platforms, and data infrastructure.  

  • Strong technical acumen — must be able to go deep on architecture, AI model usage, and developer experience.  

  • Experience leading AI/ML-powered product initiatives and partnerships. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions — from GTM to partnerships to engineering — and gain buy-in in matrixed, global organizations.  

  • Exceptional communication skills — able to translate between business strategy and technical implementation for audiences ranging from engineers to C-level stakeholders.  

  • Track record of hiring and retaining exceptional talent.  

  • Experience in payments, eCommerce infrastructure, developer tooling, or platform product management.  

  • Experience driving cross-functional transformation in a company of PayPal’s scale.  

  • Familiarity with agent-based design patterns and next-gen AI interfaces.  

  • Deep understanding of SMB pain points and workflows.

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | ($250,000.00 - $360,000.00 Annually)

Additional Location(s) | Pay Range:

Austin, Texas | ($250,000.00 - $360,000.00 Annually)

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
