Your Role with Us

As Head of Strategic Accounts & Retail, you’ll provide strategic leadership across AIA New Zealand’s Strategic Accounts & Retail channel, shaping how we drive sales performance, customer growth, and long‑term profitability. This is a senior leadership role where your influence spans national sales teams, key strategic partnerships, and cross‑channel collaboration.

You’ll lead with purpose, strengthening internal and external relationships, and embedding a unified, customer‑led approach that enhances AIA’s market presence. Your leadership will play a critical role in delivering sustainable value while supporting our ambition to create Healthier, Longer, Better Lives for our customers and communities.

Your Impact

  • Lead the Strategic Accounts & Retail channel strategy, delivering strong sales performance, retention, and profitable growth aligned to AIA’s Distribution strategy

  • Build and inspire a high‑performing national sales team, fostering capability, resilience, and a culture of continuous improvement

  • Strengthen key internal and external relationships, representing AIA across regions, industry forums, and strategic partnerships

  • Drive cross‑channel alignment, collaborating with other Heads of Channels to deliver a cohesive adviser and customer experience

  • Champion data‑driven performance and operational excellence, optimising budgets, profitability, and sales effectiveness

  • Embed customer‑led, risk‑aware leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, strong conduct, and sustainable growth

Your Capabilities

  • You bring senior sales leadership experience, leading large, multi‑channel teams at a national level

  • You have proven experience working at a senior level within the life insurance or broader financial services industry

  • You demonstrate strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes

  • You excel at building influential relationships with executive leaders, advisers, partners, and industry bodies

  • You lead with a customer‑centric and risk‑aware mindset, balancing growth with conduct and regulatory expectations

  • It’s great if you also have business or industry‑related qualifications, although these are not essential
