Sr. Manager, SRE Stores, 1 Presidents Choice Circle – Brampton, On
We are seeking a Sr. Manager, SRE Stores to lead the strategy for retail stores’ hardware for 2500+ stores. This role is crucial to ensuring the successful installation, upgrade, build, and rebuild of retail hardware infrastructure across our network. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for driving efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence using GitOps to manage deployments. You will be working with a small team to create and execute the strategy. This role reports into Director of Technology, SRE.
What You’ll Do:
Implement (with partners) and oversee the installation, upgrade, rebuild, and build of hardware across 2500 stores, ensuring a scalable, efficient, and timely rollout. Maintain our high-quality code base by performing code reviews, improving test coverage, automation, and general code quality
Implement GitOps workflows: Develop and manage hardware deployment processes through GitOps to ensure continuous, automated, and scalable hardware management.
Patch management and security: Collaborate with the security team to ensure hardware is patched regularly, vulnerabilities are addressed swiftly, and the environment remains secure.
Project management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet rollout objectives, ensuring minimal disruption to store operations.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with retail operations, SRE teams, and security teams to ensure hardware deployment aligns with company goals and security standards.
Vendor and partner management: Liaise with external hardware vendors, ensuring timely delivery of equipment, services, and support.
Documentation and reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all hardware configurations, deployment processes, and security patches. Provide regular status updates to senior leadership.
What you Bring:
Hands on experience with software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or related technical field
7-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or hardware deployment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies and automation tools.
Experience managing large-scale hardware deployments, preferably in a retail environment.
Solid knowledge of patch management and working closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-location projects with tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience with retail technology, point-of-sale systems, or related hardware a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware requirements for retail operations.
Experience in vendor management and negotiating contracts with external partners.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
