The position of Manager Logistics & Custom Compliance within our Molecular Diagnostics Business Unit located in Itasca, Illinois.
The Manager Logistics & Custom Compliance will plan, direct, and monitor all inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities so that the organization has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services its needs for its current and future operations. This role is responsible for collaborating with retailers on replenishment and supply chain performance management. This role will manage all aspects of a large scale and complex Operations-related project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
What You’ll Work On
- Responsible for purchasing, inventory management, freight & logistics, and warehouse efficiency.
- Responsible for managing metrics to ensure accurate inventory and prevent supply interruption.
- Effectively balance inventory levels, minimizing excess inventory costs while ensuring product availability and minimized backorders.
- Coordinate between functional site groups and division counterparts so the supply of produced units meets demand on time and in full. Achieve site volume and inventory targets.
- Interpret inventory requests, orders, and other documents to coordinate materials handling activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials.
- Coordinate purchasing, receiving, and shipping support to all site departments, in liaison with external stakeholders including third party suppliers and division departments including procurement.
- Oversee inventory control systems that track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements.
- Continually review current 3PL’s and possible future providers; develop and maintain strong and effective partnerships
- Initiate projects to improve supply chain processes, improve supply chain efficiency, and reduce supply chain cost
- Design, communicate, and implement operational plans for completing projects; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays.
- Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
- Ensure compliance to all applicable business policies, laws and regulations, inclusive of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years' experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain/inventory management systems is required.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
- SAP and Microsoft Office skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing all aspects of Logistics operations including 3PL relationships is preferred.
- Experience with multiple distribution channels including, but not limited to, Direct-to-Consumer (web) and Retail is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in medical device product lifecycle and regulatory agencies are preferred.

The base pay for this position is
$97,300.00 – $194,700.00
