As a key member of the Strategy and Finance team, you will work directly with our team leaders to problem-solve, develop, and manage corporate strategic partnerships for Antheia. This includes, but is not limited to, developing long-term alliance strategies, identifying new business or partnership opportunities, and supporting partnership execution and operations. This person is a self-driven learner with a deep understanding of our technology and is able to work in a fast-paced environment with strategic thinking and decision-making in an 80-20 approach.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the joint demand generation and pre-agreement activities with strategic key partners (public and private); drive Antheia pipeline development and create new partnership opportunities.
  • Support team with external facing demand generation activities including keeping a list of key potential alliance partners, coordinating & responding to RFIs, RFPs, and supporting marketing events.
  • Support contract negotiation efforts to ensure favorable terms.
  • Coordinate internal efforts (among R&D, Ops, Finance and Legal) to draft project statement of works.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure on track execution of project timelines, deliverables, and budget/finance to align with project objectives.
  • Cross-function collaboration: liaise with internal teams including PM, R&D, commercial, operations, manufacturing, and finance to ensure timely execution of all deliverables.
  • Relationship management: liaise with partner(s) on project progress and proactively communicate any issues/delays; build strong relationship with partner(s).
  • Project execution: work with PM to oversee the development of deliverables, deputizing the internal team as necessary and ensuring a high-quality final work to meet milestone requirements.
  • Align internal stakeholders to drive toward achievement of partner project goals.
  • Build successful relationships with key partners, including corporate, government, charity, and academic organizations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the partner’s structure, people strategy, and decision-making processes.
  • Safeguard each partnership’s strategic intent, ensure partnership goals are achieved and that governance processes are respected.
  • Perform other duties as assigned[1]

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree with at least combined 3-5 years of experience in either research & development or partnership development roles; MBA degree or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical background in engineering, biology, chemistry, or similar STEM fields is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to independently conduct primary literature research (e.g., scientific papers, patents, etc.), summarize insights, and present findings to a general audience in technical fields.
  • Ability to draft, iterate, and review technical proposals (including but not limited to RFP, RFI, SOW, etc.) and to coordinate inputs from multiple functions (e.g., R&D, Finance, Ops, Commercial).
  • Basic knowledge and analytical skills in all aspects of business including market analysis, business & financial planning, and licensing/deal-related business operations.
  • Results-oriented strategic thinking, clear communication, and teamwork/collaboration skills to facilitate and support executive decision-making and track corporate initiatives.
  • Understanding of business operations and partnership deal cycle in the start-up world is a huge plus.
  • Passionate about learning and building lasting relationships to help solve complex challenges.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Able to work remotely with teams or external partners/vendors; some travel domestically and/or internationally as needed.
  • Need to be able commit to at least 15-20 hours a week. This role can either be remote or in-person in Menlo Park, CA, but if remote, needs to be able to work PT time zone.
