As a fast-growing B2B industrial manufacturing company, we are looking for a Vice President of Supply Chain based out of our global corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

The Vice President of Supply Chain will lead the global supply chain strategy and operations for the organization, ensuring optimal performance in sourcing, purchasing, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics. This role is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that support the company’s growth objectives, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure a reliable, scalable, and agile supply chain network. The VP of Supply Chain will oversee a global team of supply chain leaders and collaborate with senior executives, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Sourcing & Purchasing:

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, improve quality, and ensure reliable supplier partnerships.
  • Oversee supplier negotiations, contracts, and supplier performance management to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Lead supplier risk management efforts, identifying and mitigating supply chain risks through diversification and contingency planning.
  • Build strong, long-term supplier relationships and ensure alignment with the company’s values and objectives.

Demand & Supply Planning:

  • Lead the demand forecasting and supply planning functions to ensure an accurate and reliable supply of materials and products to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop integrated demand plans that support business growth and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Optimize supply chain planning systems and processes to balance supply and demand efficiently across multiple global locations.
  • Monitor key metrics such as on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization to drive continuous improvement in planning processes.

Inventory Management & Control:

  • Develop and implement global inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and improve cash flow.
  • Ensure effective inventory control measures are in place, driving accuracy and reliability in inventory data.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to streamline inventory management processes, including cycle counting, inventory turns, and stock replenishment practices.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance visibility, control, and management of inventory across the global network.

Logistics & Distribution Management:

  • Oversee global logistics and distribution strategies to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and timely movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Drive improvements in logistics performance, including carrier management, shipping optimization, and transportation cost reduction.
  • Lead global warehouse operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, effective space utilization, and optimal order fulfillment performance.
  • Manage logistics partnerships and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of supply chain leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, and drive professional development opportunities for the supply chain team.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between supply chain, procurement, operations, and finance teams to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Build a high-performing supply chain organization capable of supporting the company’s growth in a fast-paced, global environment.

Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of the supply chain, utilizing lean principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Lead the digital transformation of the supply chain through advanced analytics, automation, and real-time visibility solutions.
  • Ensure the supply chain supports sustainability and corporate social responsibility objectives by promoting responsible sourcing, reducing environmental impact, and improving supplier diversity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in supply chain management, including global sourcing, demand planning, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Proven experience leading global supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, best practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems, supply chain management software, and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Certification in Supply Chain (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM) or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with global trade regulations, customs, and compliance.
