A Brief Overview:
As an Interventional Procedures Technologist II you will be a crucial member of our Interventional Radiology team, specializing in performing intricate interventional procedures. Your expertise in operating advanced imaging equipment and assisting interventional radiologists will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient care. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring procedural efficiency, patient safety, and the achievement of optimal clinical outcomes.

What you will do:

  • Assist interventional radiologists in performing a variety of interventional procedures, including angiography, embolization, biopsies, and drainage procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, and addressing their concerns.
  • Ensure a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols during procedures.
  • Operate and maintain advanced imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, to obtain real-time images during procedures.
  • Adjust equipment settings to optimize image quality and patient safety.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and condition throughout procedures, reporting any changes to the interventional radiologist.
  • Administer contrast agents as needed and document their use accurately.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate procedural documentation, including patient records, equipment logs, and radiation exposure records.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental documentation requirements.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain high procedural standards and image quality. - Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during procedures, providing life-saving measures as necessary.
  • Familiarity with emergency equipment and protocols is essential.
  • Collaborate closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure procedural efficiency.
  • Stay current with advances in interventional radiology technology and techniques through ongoing education and training.
  • Assist in the training of new technologists and support staff.

What you will need:

  • Associates Degree Radiologic Technology Required
  • 2 Years experience in interventional radiology required.
  • ARRT - Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required
  • Cardiac-Interventional Technology (CV) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • AHA Heartsaver CPR - American Heart Association (AHA) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required
