We’re currently looking for an Engineer in Vehicle Quality Engineering to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the design quality of our vehicle programs, focusing on maintaining high standards from development through to production. This includes safeguarding warranty conditions, initial quality, and meeting all other quality metrics post-launch.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
· Engage closely with the Nissan Technical Center in Japan to scrutinize design concepts and digital data, identifying potential warranty risks and quality issues in the design of future models.
· Work in tandem with the Chief Quality Engineer to facilitate a secure and successful launch of vehicles, focusing on design excellence during major updates, minor changes, and annual model year.
· Regularly report on design-centric program status and strategic action plans to Chief Vehicle Engineers and global executive teams.
· Foster a collaborative environment with design and quality engineering teams in Michigan, the Total Customer Satisfaction team in Tennessee, and international quality teams. Exchange best practices, discuss design-related issues and solutions with plant teams, and collaborate with the Nissan Technical Center in Japan to drive design quality improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Exceptional communication skills, with an emphasis on conveying complex design concepts.
· Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate on design challenges and work as a team
· Extensive knowledge of the automotive industry, particularly in vehicle design and quality assurance.
· The capacity to manage intricate design projects, remain flexible, and prioritize effectively.
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
