Overview:
Completes advanced research on aged incomplete and unsuccessful lien filings, processes commercial lien filing transactions, completes UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) filing documentation, and reviews and audits tasks completed by less experienced personnel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete advanced research related to aged outstanding title/lien perfections and missing collateral upon lien satisfaction.
Process commercial lien filing transactions, release collateral and complete special handling reporting.
Complete electronic UCC filings including new filings, amendments and continuations.
Complete lien exception research and resolution as required.
Complete reviews audits of critical tasks to ensure their accurate completion.
Complete lien renewal research and processing.
Process direct lien filing transactions, including completion specific state Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) documents.
Complete research on outstanding title/lien perfections, including calling dealers, DMVs and customers as well as responding to online DMV inquires; escalate issues as appropriate to more experienced personnel.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Non-Real Estate Collateral Management is responsible for perfecting, maintaining, and releasing collateral for automobile, boat, and recreational vehicle (RV) loans, including placing liens on titles, processing name change requests, reviewing requests to register collateral in a new state, and ensuring the loan has been fully paid off and closed prior to releasing the lien.
Education and Experience Required:
Associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 1 years’ work experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
3 years’ relevant work experience
Loan management experience with Boats, RV'S, Trailers, or Cars
Scheduled Shift/Required Availability:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Location/Working Model:
This is a hybrid position requiring two days in-office
Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to the office
