Workday's Global Strategic Delivery Office is the driving force behind our marketing projects, programs, campaigns, events and digital experiences. Our mission is to introduce and maintain a consistent approach to carrying out projects as well as look for opportunities to streamline process and scale. Our team oversees the cross-functional planning, scoping, and execution of marketing projects to ensure support of best practices, standards, methodologies and tools. About the Role

The Senior Project Manager, Events Data Strategy, plays a significant role in the cross-functional organization of projects that drive our global event demand model. Reporting into the Strategic Delivery Office (Global Events) , the Senior Marketing Event Data Strategy PM will project manage the end to end integration process of moving event data from our event CRM (Rainfocus) into Workday systems (Datalake, Marketo, SFDC, Tableau, Sigma, Vivastream). This role requires a high level understanding of corporate event execution, marketing automation and revenue operations to ultimately help surface insights for the sales organization that supports pipeline acceleration and deal closure. The PM will work collaboratively with Event Marketing, Marketing Automation, Marketing Technology, as well as other functional teams outside of Marketing to plan and implement the work to accomplish this end-to-end process with an emphasis on speed to lead delivery.

About the Role:

  • Provide data strategy project management for mainly US and EMEA corporate events, as well as additional high priority events.

    • Travel on site to events as needed to coordinate a smooth transition of attendee journey data post-event.

  • Partner with Event Marketing, Marketing Automation, Marketing Technology, Revenue Operations, Sales, Business Technology, Business Insights team to support alignment across teams on project requirements for each group.

  • Document, maintain, and communicate project scope & requirements.

    • Assist with updating data workflows, and updating data requirements as program needs are confirmed.

    • Build test plans and detailed short interval schedules for day of event data processes, if needed.

  • Ensure all requirements align with project lead management framework objectives.

  • Build detailed project schedules and work within various time management tools to supervise the work required to implement the data architecture.

  • Identify dependencies between tasks within your project as well as between different workstreams, projects & optimize the project schedule to ensure timely completion.

  • Monitor detailed task completion and progress toward major milestones.

  • Facilitate project status meetings and track completion of asynchronous work against overall project schedule.

  • Track all action items, issues, risks, and decisions for the project in a clear and concise manner.

  • Establish and maintain centralized documentation for event data architecture to preserve institutional knowledge, minimize operational risk, and ensure continuity for global reporting cycles.

  • Drive issue resolution; facilitate ad-hoc meetings with key team members to identify solutions, make decisions.

  • Lead post-event data strategy retrospectives to analyze data quality issues, integration lag times, and lead routing errors; implement technical process improvements for subsequent events to optimize the global demand model.

  • Translate complex post-event data into critical strategic reporting for Marketing Leadership, ensuring data integrity advises decision-making beyond just immediate lead generation.

  • Analyze and report on global event return on investment and efficiency to rationalize future budget allocations and advise executive marketing strategy for upcoming fiscal years.

  • Maintain a collaborative team environment to ensure inter-departmental alignment, optimization of resources, smooth handoffs, and project consistency.

  • Provide written & verbal communication of project status to all team members and interested parties at all levels of the organization.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years in business to business marketing with shown project management experience, preferably on large-scale, in-person & virtual events projects.

  • Strong interpersonal and documentation skills with the ability to both see the big picture and understand the details.

  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of Marketing Automation Platforms (Marketo) and CRM (Salesforce) architecture.

  • Validated experience working with cross-functional teams, and leading virtual/global teams.

  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Google docs, Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, etc.).

  • Excellent client-facing interpersonal skills including self-presentation and clarity of verbal and written communication. Impeccable attention to detail. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Proven track record to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results on time & gracefully under pressure.

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and change.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to increase knowledge, skills and abilities as well as problem solve and improve processes.

  • Ability to lead & influence teams without direct authority; proven leadership skills on sophisticated, cross-functional projects.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • PMP certification is a plus.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
