Located in Birmingham, Alabama is the People Inc. Food Studios (PIFS), a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill/BBQ station and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the Meredith Food Studios is the country’s premier creative hub, producing thousands of world class recipes, images and related content annually for Meredith’s print, digital, and social platforms.

The Food Styling Assistant will assist the food stylists with grocery shopping, recipe prep, and organization of kitchens and workspaces. 

Full in office- 

In-office Expectations: This position is a fully in-office role due to the nature of the work being done.

About The Positions Contributions:

Essential Job Functions, Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results:

35% Assist the food stylists with grocery shopping.

Work with the Test Kitchen Coordinator to shop and stock the pantries and cold-storage areas in the kitchen.

60% Ensure that workstations are equipped with ingredients in advance of recipe preparation. 

Follow your food stylist’s lead to prepare recipes for photography.

Prepare recipes on camera for hosted social videos.

5% File all expense reports for accounting purposes

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

  • B.S. or B.A. and a culinary degree or extensive professional cooking experience.

Experience:

  • Food styling assisting experience preferred.
