The Cash & Collateral Management Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the efficient and proper utilization of cash & collateral throughout the firm, and its subsidiaries, on both a domestic and international basis
  • Working with the funding and credit relations groups, will analyze cash flow, use of cash capital and collateral, transfer of funds (intra-company and with outside parties), bank account usage, bank compensation, and flow-through of funds
  • Establish controls for all cash & collateral movements and cash usage and coordinate activities with auditing functions. Arrange lock-box and/or other security/control systems in domestic and international locations and work closely with various operations settlement areas to establish proper procedures and controls
  • Play a significant role in developing and coordinating data processing systems as they relate to both the cash management group and the entire treasury function along with the collateral operations group
  • Maintain automated cash management system to track and predict cash flows, allocate funds to appropriate areas on settlement dates, monitor excess or idle cash, and assist in projecting short term funding requirements
  • Monitor portfolios and associated exposure to ensure collateral is requested from internal and external counterparties in a timely manner
  • Directly impacts the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and formulation of procedures/process improvement
  • Provides value-added perspective or advice that contributes to the development of new techniques and the improvement of the collateral and margining processes for the area.
  • Responsible for own work to support business teams in an assigned area
  • Resolves complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of collateral procedures and industry standards
  • Makes a significant contribution to change-the-bank projects and offers solutions at an advanced level.
  • Serves as an analytical and/or procedural expert, representing a unit or team to support deliverables/initiatives.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations, mostly but not limited to the collateral and margining process
  • Responsible for escalating control gaps and issues to senior management
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area to resolve issues related to collateral and margin processes
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how own collateral function collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals
  • Influences decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization
  • Serves as the first point of escalation for staff members, management, other operations groups and internal/external clients
  • Assumes informal/formal leadership role within the team, is involved in the coaching and training of new recruits, and provides guidance and support to junior staff
  • Creates, develops and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal/external clients and stakeholders, and seeks to understand their needs and provides solutions
  • Persuades and influences others through collaborative communication skills; may negotiate with external parties
  • Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years industry experience
  • Prior people management experience required


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
