Job Summary
Prevents financial loss caused by theft and fraud in assigned locations. Minimizes company losses by identifying theft and fraud incidents, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring physical security, and driving a culture of shrink elimination.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Develops shrink plans and processes to achieve systematic asset protection in assigned locations.
- Drives sales and profitability by ensuring safe and secure working environments, including implementing and communicating asset protection programs, initiatives, and strategies.
- Initiates, conducts, and closes all internal and external investigations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all asset protection activities are compliant with local and state regulations and internal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local law enforcement.
- Ensures employees achieve shrink goals through service, awareness, and training.
- Manages and develops shrink and theft awareness programs and advises management of unusual activity using various reporting methods.
- Performs all responsibilities in achieving asset protection goals and participates in inventory planning and execution.
Nature and Scope
- Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
- Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
- May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
- Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
- Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
