Job Summary:
The Physical Security and Safety Specialist III is responsible for helping to maintain physical security hardware and software systems. Scope of responsibilities include but are not limited to addressing issues that arise with visitor management, surveillance, access control, and alarm monitoring systems. In addition, this position will assist with responding to audits involving physical security and safety processes, procedures, and record keeping. This job is full-time, on site, at Dayton HQ.
Essential Functions:
- Daily monitoring of all surveillance cameras, access card readers, visitor management, alarm monitoring, and other software systems to identify and correct performance issues that arise
- Work with other departments and vendors to perform updates to all systems
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware equipment maintained in storage closets
- Assist uniformed security officers in setting up their user accounts, permissions, and troubleshooting issues with access to systems administered by the department
- Assist the team and integrator to coordinate installations and corrections to all hardware and software systems
- Assist security officers in their training and use of the hardware and software systems
- Create and provide detailed reports related to access control use and employee activity
- Assist with responses to audit requests involving physical security system controls
- Aid with implementation and setup of physical security hardware as additional regional offices are built
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent work experience, is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the physical security and safety industry is required
- Experience in law enforcement, and investigations is preferred
- Experience working with access control and surveillance systems is preferred
- Experience working in a crime prevention environment with a focus on physical security
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn and display a working knowledge of access control and surveillance platforms
- Ability to collaborate with multiple external resources including vendors and manufacturers
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work cross functionally and in a matrix environment with multiple departments
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented
- Excellent problem-solving skills

Working Conditions:
- General office-based environment incorporating multiple buildings; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:
$60,300.00 - $96,500.00
