The Role: 

The Marketing team at Medcan is accountable for managing Medcan’s brand and lead generation campaigns, CRM and marketing automation, and strategic initiatives and events. This role will have an emphasis on CRM, email marketing and our website optimization to help deepen our existing relationships through effective lifecycle management and communications.  

 

This internship opportunity will run from January to April. The successful candidate will work directly with the CRM Specialist and will have the opportunity to be part of a corporate environment and be an active participant in a designated project, on a highly collaborate team. 

Our paid internship program gives students practical work experience, learning and development workshops, social outings, and an opportunity to network with our leadership team. You will be an active participant in designated projects and tasks, and be a member of a highly collaborate team.

 

The Accountabilities: 

  • Play an active role in ensuring the success of key projects, including coordination of campaign assets, tracking progress, stakeholder management, and meeting deadlines. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand all requirements and objectives, which will inform a marketing brief and project plan.  

  • Submit data requests to our Analytics team to segment and select client lists for campaigns.  

  • Update the Medcan.com website with content or pricing updates using our Content Management System (CMS).  

  • Share upcoming campaigns with cross-functional teams and provide weekly updates on campaign performance.  

  • Develop email templates and share with stakeholders for feedback and approval. 

  • Support broader marketing team by creating and managing workback schedules in our project management tool, Asana.  

  • Work directly with our marketing automation vendor to attend weekly status calls, gather requirements and coordinate project deliverables. 

  • Supporting the marketing team in daily administrative tasks and provide support as needed. 

 

The Requirements: 

  • Current student in 3rd or 4th year at a post-secondary institution 

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration/Commerce, or similar 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required 

  • Salesforce proficiency would be considered an asset 

  • Strong interest and familiarity working with marketing tools such as content management, emails, marketing automation etc.  

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Highly collaborative, team player 

  • Highly analytical and comfortable working with data 

  • Strong time management and able to manage multiple projects and priorities 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Self-sufficient individual with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams 

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive 

 

This is a hybrid opportunity working 2 days/week in our Toronto office at 150 York St. You will work 5 days/week between Monday to Friday. This is an internship expected to run full-time from January 6, 2025 to April 25, 2025.
