As a Payroll Team Leader, you will oversee and coordinate payroll processing activities while leading and mentoring a team of Payroll Specialists. This role is vital in ensuring accurate payroll outputs, handling payroll-related queries, and managing end-to-end payroll processing for clients. You will be the first line of support and validation for your team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and according to compliance standards. In addition to managing payroll operations, you will play a key role in training new team members and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
How you will make a difference:
- Process company payrolls end-to-end, including wage and overtime calculations, deductions, and terminations (for small-volume payrolls).
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with local laws and regulations in payroll processing.
- Oversee the outputs of payroll production teammates, including GTN reports, payroll setup, bank files, and variables.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in their tasks, reporting any challenges to upper management.
- Manage client communications from a Payroll Operations perspective, ensuring correct payroll setups, mappings, and timely issue resolution.
- Monitor team KPIs, manage escalations, and ensure quality reporting on payroll processes.
- Act as the first validator of team submissions, ensuring accuracy in working hours, holidays, and other key payroll components.
- Lead and manage payroll and transformation projects, ensuring smooth execution under the guidance of the Payroll Operations Manager.
Training Responsibilities:
- Assist in training new joiners on payroll procedures and legal requirements, acting as their primary point of contact for guidance.
- Support ongoing development and ensure smooth integration of new team members into the payroll process.
