Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst of Demand Planning reports to the Director of Sales & Operations and owns the general market, sales, and supply chain analysis required to understand, predict, and enhance mobile phone sales and availability at Samsung’s largest account. This person oversees data collection, performance analysis, problem identification, and recommendations supporting mobile planning, operations, and customer demand. He/she meets customer needs while minimizing overall supply chain costs.

  • Leads Weekly/quarterly S&OP process for Verizon Account across smartphones, tablets, and mobile enhancements.
  • Responsible for the development of demand forecast to meet sales, financial, and inventory requirements for Samsung and the customer
  • Collaborates cross-functionally (e.g., with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain) to achieve a balance between smartphone inventory levels, purchase and sales targets and production capability
  • Functions as the focal point to improve communications between headquarters and various internal/External stakeholders including Product Management and Marketing teams.
  • Communicates daily between headquarters and local organization on production allocation, delivery requirements and inventory management. 
  • Provides Sales & Marketing teams with frequent updates of product launch schedules from headquarters and against customer product delivery commitments. 
  • Coordinates and escalates critical product availability, launch issues and sales demands with manufacturing leadership.
  • Identifies sales target status and product requirements to ensure fulfillment of product development and delivery to achieve sales plans. 
  • Supports exceeding quarterly and annual revenue, profit, and market share goals for assigned customer(s)
  • Prepare Ad Hoc reports related to account team monthly/quarterly financials
  • Lead and contribute towards driving sales goals and customer team success
  • Involve day-to-day operations, including availabilities and product shipment, and collectively review customer OH and consumption.
  • Manage Aging inventories, regularly reports to leadership, and determine clearance plan with coordination with teams.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in general business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field

  • 4+ years’ experience in sales operations, supply chain management, or a related field

  • Experience in high-volume retail environment, consumer electronics, or packaged goods

  • Preferred experience in mobile/telecom industries

  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.

  • Experience using advanced supply chain management, enterprise planning or financial planning systems is highly desired.  (SAP, etc.)

  • Proven success in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

  • Should have advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge and skills. 

  • Strong communication, both written (PPT presentations) and oral skills.

  • The ability to work either independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including the completion of assignments within and exceeding established time frames.
